Study in Belgium in 2027

Admission, diploma equivalence, a D visa filed in Yaoundé, means of subsistence and scholarships: the official procedure for Cameroonian students.

The steps, from admission to the D visa

The visa application is made online on Visa On Web, then at the TLScontact centre in Yaoundé, the only one authorised to receive Belgian student visa applications in Cameroon. The former “Campus Belgique” step (a prior interview at VIABEL) is no longer part of the procedure published by the embassy.

  1. Apply to an institutionEach institution sets its own deadline. At UCLouvain, for example, it was 31 March for non-EU applicants who need a visa (2026 intake).
  2. Apply for diploma equivalenceTo enter a first-cycle programme, your baccalaureate must be recognised by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles: apply between 15 November and 15 July (for the 2027 intake, from 15 November 2026).
  3. Complete the Visa On Web formA mandatory step before booking any appointment.
  4. Submit your application at TLScontact YaoundéWith the complete file. Belgian student visas cannot be filed in Douala.
  5. Questionnaire or interviewThe embassy may ask for a questionnaire, or an interview with a consular officer.
  6. Diploma authenticationFrench-speaking applicants: at the Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun (OBC), after submission. English-speaking applicants: in person at the GCE Board.

Also required: a medical certificate (Immigration Office form), a criminal record certificate, health insurance and proof of enrolment.
