Study in Luxembourg in 2027

A simpler procedure since 1 October 2026: admission, a D visa filed in Yaoundé, funds and possible funding.

The steps: a new procedure since 1 October 2026

Since 1 October 2026, the temporary residence authorisation that used to be requested first from the Immigration Directorate has been replaced by a direct D visa application, including for students.

  1. Get admittedAt the University of Luxembourg or a recognised institution; the language required depends on the programme (French, English or German).
  2. Complete the Visa On Web formBelgium represents Luxembourg for visas in Cameroon.
  3. Submit the application at TLScontact YaoundéThe Belgian Embassy’s centre is the only place to apply in Cameroon.
  4. On arrivalDeclare your arrival at the town hall, have the medical check (including tuberculosis screening), then apply for the student residence permit.

Some Guichet.lu pages still describe the former two-step procedure: for a 2027 intake, the new one applies.
